Finding beauty everywhere

The mountain knows it all

“We are now in the mountains and they are in us, kindling enthusiasm, making every nerve quiver, filling every pore and cell of us.”

― John Muir, My First Summer in the Sierra

Munich is the perfect starting point for amazing hikes.  There are plenty of choices in the area, especially around the lakes.

I highly recommend the following route – Prinzenweg – from Schliersee to Tegernsee.

  • distance – 14,6 km
  • duration – ca. 3 hours and 30 minutes
  • highest point – 1322 m

How to get there:

You can get the Bayern ticket and take the train from Munich to Schliersee. It takes an hour to reach Schliersee and from there you just need to find the sign Tegernsee. Follow the signs and you would be OK.

Kreuzbergalm

There is a very nice stop on the way with a breathtaking view of the mountain. It is called Kreuzbergalm and there you can enjoy some coffee & cake or tasty sausages with the best mustard ever. Do not get carried away, because you need to go down to Tegernsee =)

Have a great time!
