Finding beauty everywhere

Copenhagen in pictures

“A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles.” – Tim Cahill

At the end of May this year, a dear friend of mine and I visited Copenhagen – home to Hans Christian Andersen and the Little Mermaid.

Our journey was a slow one. We traveled 8 hours by train and ferry from Bremen to Copenhagen. It was worth it nonetheless – traveling with a good friend makes the time go by very fast. We were really surprised to find out that our train was supposed to get into a ferry in order to cross the Baltic Sea. We were enjoying the view from the deck and some coffee while the train was safely parked downstairs.

Believe me, it is a good idea to get back to the train in time before it gets out of the ferry. Boarding the train in the last possible minute using a short ladder was surely an exhilarating experience that I will never forget.

We rented an Airbnb and got a whole apartment for half the price that we would have paid for a tiny room in a hotel. The hotels in Copenhagen are really pricey, so we explored the alternatives. This was my first experience with Airbnb and it was a positive one. Our host was friendly and helpful and the apartment was clean and cozy.
